Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) Dijon mustard
- 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Egg noodles, cooked, for serving
Method:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion and mushrooms. Cook until the vegetables are softened and any liquid has evaporated.
- Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir to combine.
- Return the beef to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the creamy beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley.
